Kuwait Steps Up Flood Response After Heavy Rainfall

Kuwait City: Kuwait’s Ministry of Public Works has intensified emergency operations to clear waterlogging caused by recent heavy rainfall, focusing on key areas connected to major roads.

Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al Mishaan visited several affected locations to assess the situation and directed emergency teams to take all necessary measures to ensure the swift drainage of accumulated water. She also inspected operations in the Sabah Al Ahmad area.

The ministry confirmed that emergency teams have been deployed across all governorates and are working at full capacity. Pumps, tankers, and other essential equipment have been mobilised to remove water efficiently.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior has temporarily closed some major roads due to the rain. Authorities have also advised delivery companies and outdoor workplaces to suspend operations temporarily to ensure worker safety.

Kuwait Municipality, the Ministry of Social Affairs, and other government agencies are working together to manage the situation and provide assistance to the public.
