Dubai Indian and Pakistani schools begin academic year online

Homes across Dubai turned into classrooms on Monday as Indian and Pakistani schools began the 2026 to 2027 academic year through online learning, with many kindergarten students attending their first day of school from home.

While similar schools in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and the northern emirates had already resumed online classes earlier, Dubai schools followed their own schedule, reopening on April 6. Most Indian schools in the emirate follow the Central Board of Secondary Education curriculum.

Punit MK Vasu said the focus was on helping young learners adapt smoothly to structured routines. The group, which serves over 13,000 students across three campuses, introduced a balanced “school at home” approach.

This model combines short live online sessions with offline activities to reduce screen time and improve engagement, particularly for early learners. The approach has been implemented across campuses including The Indian High School in Al Garhoud and The Indian International School in Dubai Silicon Oasis.
