UAE intercepts missiles and drones, residents urged to stay indoors

The UAE’s air defence systems are actively intercepting incoming missile and drone threats, with authorities urging residents to remain in safe locations and follow official updates.

According to the Ministry of Defence, sounds heard across parts of the country around 5:18 am were the result of ongoing interception operations targeting missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Residents have been advised to prioritise safety by staying indoors and avoiding recording or sharing videos during active alerts. Authorities stressed the importance of following official instructions immediately.

Motorists are encouraged to continue driving safely to their destinations and only seek shelter upon arrival, without stopping on roads.

People should move to secure locations or remain indoors until an official all-clear is issued. The emergency hotline 999 should be used only for genuine emergencies to ensure availability for critical situations.

Authorities also warned against spreading rumours or unverified information, urging the public to rely solely on official communication channels.
