Abu Dhabi Police alert public to fake search links stealing banking information

Abu Dhabi Police has issued a warning about fraudulent links appearing in search engine results that are being used to steal personal and banking data. Authorities said cybercriminals are increasingly using these deceptive links to target unsuspecting users.

Officials advised the public to remain vigilant and avoid clicking on suspicious links, particularly those claiming to represent government services or consumer platforms. These fake websites are often designed to closely resemble legitimate ones, making them difficult to identify.

According to police, scammers use advanced techniques to push these fraudulent links to the top of search results. Once users access such sites, they may be prompted to enter sensitive details, which are then exploited for financial fraud.

Authorities stressed the importance of verifying website authenticity before sharing any personal information. They also urged residents to report suspicious activities immediately through official channels such as the Aman service.
