India’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Paramita Tripathi, formally presented her credentials to His Highness Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah at a ceremony held at Bayan Palace on April 21, 2026. She becomes the 20th ambassador and the first woman to represent India in Kuwait.
The Amir welcomed the ambassador and highlighted the long-standing and friendly relations between India and Kuwait, emphasising strong historical ties and people-to-people connections. He reiterated Kuwait’s commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation across key sectors.
During the meeting, Ambassador Tripathi conveyed greetings from Droupadi Murmu and Narendra Modi, reaffirming India’s commitment to deepening its partnership with Kuwait. She also expressed India’s support for regional peace and stability amid current developments.
The ambassador appreciated Kuwait’s continued support for the Indian community and highlighted plans to expand collaboration in areas such as trade, defence, energy, healthcare, technology, and innovation.
India and Kuwait continue to share strong diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties, with 2026 marking the 65th anniversary of formal diplomatic relations between the two countries.
