Schools across the United Arab Emirates will maintain their existing academic calendars during the upcoming Eid al-Adha period, though limited flexibility has been granted to school leaders.
Principals have clarified that while no major schedule changes are planned, they are allowed to grant up to three additional days of leave under specific conditions. Any such decision requires approval from relevant authorities such as the Sharjah Private Education Authority.
School administrators noted that the focus remains on ensuring continuity in learning, especially as students transition back to in-person education after recent disruptions. Institutions are also prioritising student wellbeing and academic recovery during this period.
In cases where additional leave is granted, schools will arrange compensatory classes or extra sessions to ensure that students do not fall behind in their studies.
Educators added that many schools, particularly those following international and Indian curricula, are concentrating on exam preparation and restoring academic standards ahead of key assessments.
