KUWAIT CITY: The Ministry of Interior announced that authorities have foiled a major drug smuggling attempt involving nearly 500,000 Captagon tablets.
The shipment, disguised as food items and arriving عبر a maritime border, was carefully tracked and found to contain psychotropic substances hidden. A coordinated operation between the General Directorate for Drug Control and Customs led to its seizure.
A Gulf national was arrested in a planned ambush while receiving the shipment, while the sender was apprehended in Lebanon in cooperation with anti-narcotics authorities there.
Officials confirmed that the operation reflects strong regional coordination and reaffirmed Kuwait’s commitment to combating drug trafficking and protecting society.
