Qatar warns public not to handle unidentified objects in maritime areas

Authorities in Qatar have issued a safety warning urging the public not to touch or move unidentified objects found in maritime areas.

The Ministry of Interior said the advisory applies particularly to debris or suspicious items that may be linked to intercepted missiles or drones within the country’s waters. Officials stressed that handling such objects could pose serious safety risks and may also result in legal consequences.

Residents and sea-goers have been instructed to immediately report any such findings to the relevant authorities, including the Coast Guard, and avoid approaching the objects.

In case of emergencies, the public can contact 999 for assistance. The ministry emphasised that cooperation with official guidelines is essential to ensure public safety and prevent accidents.
