Six arrested in drug cases in Kuwait; 5kg liquid meth smuggling attempt foiled

The Ministry of Interior has announced the arrest of six individuals in separate cases involving possession of psychotropic substances intended for trafficking and use.

According to officials, the arrests were carried out by the General Administration for Drug Control under the Criminal Security Sector as part of intensified efforts to combat drug-related crimes and enforce the law. Authorities said a range of narcotics and materials were seized, including capsules of Lyrica, quantities of crystal meth, hashish, cocaine, chemical substances, and drug paraphernalia.

In a separate operation, the ministry confirmed that an attempt to smuggle five kilograms of liquid crystal meth, commonly known as “shabu,” was successfully thwarted. The operation was conducted in coordination with anti-narcotics authorities in the United Arab Emirates and customs officials.

One suspect was arrested in connection with the smuggling attempt, which involved transporting the substance through air freight. Legal action has been initiated against all accused, and the seized items have been referred to the relevant authorities.

The ministry reiterated its commitment to tackling drug trafficking and warned that strict action will be taken against anyone involved in such illegal activities, stressing ongoing security campaigns to safeguard society.
