United Arab Emirates rejects Iranian threats, says sovereignty and security are non negotiable

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned statements and threats issued by Iran regarding the sovereignty and national security of the United Arab Emirates.

In an official statement, the ministry said the UAE completely rejects any claims that question the country’s independent decisions or internal security policies. It stressed that the UAE’s defence partnerships and international relations are sovereign matters and cannot be used as justification for threats or interference by any foreign country.

The ministry also stated that remarks or actions threatening populated areas, citizens or the country’s security are entirely unacceptable. It emphasised that such behaviour contradicts the principles of good neighbourly relations, international law and the Charter of the United Nations.

Officials reaffirmed that the UAE has the full right to defend its territory, protect its people and preserve its sovereignty against any hostile actions or threats.

The statement further noted that pressure tactics, provocative statements or intimidation attempts would not influence the UAE’s national positions or policies.

The UAE also confirmed that it is closely monitoring developments in the region following the ceasefire involving the United States, Israel and Iran, amid continuing regional tensions.
