Kuwait launches new domestic driver visa service through Sahl app

The Ministry of Interior Kuwait has announced the launch of a new domestic driver visa service through the unified government electronic services application Sahl.

According to the ministry, the new service has been introduced by the Human Resources and Information Technology sector in cooperation with the Residence Affairs sector.

The digital facility allows citizens and eligible users to issue a new entry visa for domestic drivers completely online without the need to visit citizen service centres physically.

Officials said the initiative aims to simplify procedures, reduce waiting times and improve the overall quality and efficiency of government services provided to the public.

The ministry added that the launch forms part of Kuwait’s broader efforts to strengthen digital transformation and move towards a fully integrated electronic government system.

Authorities noted that expanding digital services through the Sahl platform will help residents and citizens complete official transactions more conveniently and quickly.

The Sahl application already provides access to multiple government related services and has become one of Kuwait’s key digital service platforms.

Officials encouraged users to utilise the application for faster processing of transactions and to benefit from the growing number of electronic services being introduced across government departments.

The Ministry of Interior stated that more digital initiatives and electronic services are expected to be launched in the future as part of ongoing government modernisation plans.
