Kuwait customs foils attempt to smuggle 4,600 grams of narcotics

General Administration of Customs has announced the seizure of approximately 4,600 grams of narcotic substances hidden inside postal shipments arriving in Kuwait from the United Kingdom.

According to customs officials, the operation involved two separate smuggling attempts detected after authorities became suspicious about parcels whose contents had been deliberately mislabeled.

In the first case, one shipment was registered under the label “wax.” Upon inspection, customs officers discovered four containers filled with a transparent viscous liquid.

Samples from the seized materials were sent to the General Department of Criminal Evidence for laboratory examination.

Authorities confirmed that the liquid contained derivatives of a narcotic substance referred to as “chemical liquid,” with the total seized quantity in the first shipment weighing approximately 2,400 grams.

Following the discovery, officials coordinated with the Customs Investigation and Research Office to complete legal procedures and secure the confiscated items.

In a second incident, customs officers flagged another parcel arriving from the United Kingdom that had been labeled as “wash.”

During inspection, officers discovered two bottles containing a similar transparent liquid. Laboratory analysis later confirmed the presence of narcotic derivatives weighing approximately 2,200 grams.

Authorities stated that coordination was immediately carried out with customs investigation teams to identify and apprehend those involved in the smuggling operation.

The General Administration of Customs reaffirmed that inspection teams continue strengthening monitoring procedures at entry points and intensifying anti smuggling operations through close cooperation with relevant security authorities.

Officials added that Kuwait remains committed to combating narcotics trafficking and preventing illegal substances from entering the country through postal and shipping channels.
