Kuwait cancels civil ID addresses of over 400 residents

The Public Authority for Civil Information in Kuwait has announced the cancellation of official residential addresses linked to 427 residents of various nationalities.

The decision was published in the government gazette “Kuwait Al Youm” as part of ongoing efforts to maintain accurate civil identification records across the country.

Authorities stated that the address cancellations were carried out either based on declarations submitted by building owners or sponsors, or because the residential buildings linked to those addresses had been demolished.

Affected residents have been instructed to update or correct their residential information within 30 days from the date of publication of the notice.

Officials said residents must submit the required supporting documents while registering new addresses or correcting existing details.

The authority also confirmed that the process can be completed electronically through the Sahel platform.

Authorities warned that individuals who fail to update their address information within the specified period may face legal action under Article 33 of Law No. 32 of 1982.

Under the law, violators may be fined up to 100 Kuwaiti dinars, with the possibility of higher penalties depending on the number of affected residents.

Officials stressed the importance of maintaining accurate civil ID information to avoid legal complications and administrative issues.

Residents, including expatriates, have been urged to ensure that their residential details remain updated in official records at all times.

The latest move forms part of Kuwait’s broader efforts to improve digital governance, population records and residential data accuracy.
