India Ready for ‘Operation Sindoor 2.0’ If Needed, Says Army Chief

Upendra Dwivedi has said that all three branches of the Indian Armed Forces are fully prepared for “Operation Sindoor 2.0” if circumstances require further action.

Speaking to reporters after reviewing the Passing Out Parade of the 150th Course at National Defence Academy in Pune, the Army Chief stressed that military preparedness remains a top priority.

General Dwivedi stated that Operation Sindoor is still ongoing and that only a temporary cessation of hostilities is currently in effect.

He noted that the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force are working closely together to strengthen operational coordination and improve readiness for future challenges.

According to the Army Chief, modern warfare has transformed significantly, with battlefields becoming increasingly transparent due to technological advancements and surveillance capabilities.

He emphasised the importance of maintaining constant awareness regarding troop deployments, operational security and civilian safety during military operations.

General Dwivedi also highlighted the need for greater synergy among the three services to effectively address emerging security threats and evolving combat environments.

The remarks come as India continues efforts to enhance joint military capabilities and strengthen preparedness for future defence requirements.

Officials have not provided additional details regarding any specific operational plans, but the Army Chief’s comments underline the armed forces’ focus on maintaining a high level of readiness.
