Kuwait Ministry Intensifies Food Safety Enforcement After Al-Salhiya Raid

An unlicensed warehouse used for preparing and storing food products has been seized in Al-Salhiya as part of ongoing inspection and enforcement efforts by Kuwait authorities.

According to the Ministry of Interior, officers from the Al-Salhiya Police Station discovered the facility while conducting routine security patrols in the area. The warehouse was reportedly operating inside the parking area of a commercial building.

Authorities became suspicious after observing two Bangladeshi workers leaving the site carrying food supplies. During questioning, the men stated that the warehouse belonged to a fast-food restaurant and was being used to prepare and store food products.

A subsequent inspection revealed multiple violations. Officials found that the premises was not licensed or approved for food storage, while several food items lacked production and expiry dates.

Investigators also reported that the warehouse failed to meet basic health and hygiene requirements, making it unsuitable for food preparation or storage activities.

The case was immediately referred to the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, whose inspectors visited the site and documented numerous health and regulatory violations.

An official violation report was issued, and legal action was initiated against the tenant, a Kuwaiti citizen identified as the restaurant owner and sponsor of the workers involved.

The Ministry of Interior said security patrols and inspections will continue across the country in coordination with relevant authorities to identify violators, enforce regulations and protect public health.
