Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi has directed the acceleration of artificial intelligence adoption across government entities in Sharjah as part of efforts to improve efficiency, enhance public services and support digital transformation.
The directive was issued during efforts to advance the emirate’s transition towards an AI-assisted government, with a focus on integrating modern AI-powered assistants into daily government operations.
Under the initiative, the Sharjah Digital Department has been tasked with leading the development of the Sharjah AI Assistant Programme in coordination with government entities across the emirate.
The programme will establish the necessary technological infrastructure, identify implementation priorities and support government departments in accelerating the deployment of AI assistants in various services and administrative functions.
The Crown Prince also instructed authorities to strengthen cooperation with private sector organisations, academic institutions and community stakeholders to promote innovation, sustainability and the development of national digital capabilities.
Officials said the initiative will help government entities benefit from specialised expertise while creating opportunities to develop local talent in emerging technology fields.
The move reflects Sharjah’s broader strategy of adopting advanced digital technologies to improve government performance, enhance service delivery and strengthen the emirate’s digital sovereignty.
Authorities believe the expanded use of AI assistants will streamline workflows, improve decision-making and provide faster, more efficient services for residents and businesses.
