Kuwait Expands Domestic Worker Visa Service Through Sahel App

Kuwait City: The Ministry of Interior has expanded its electronic visa services by introducing four new categories eligible to apply for domestic worker and driver visas through the government’s unified Sahel platform.

The new service, launched on Saturday, allows eligible citizens and residents to complete visa issuance procedures digitally without visiting government offices, supporting Kuwait’s ongoing digital transformation efforts.

Under the updated system, a single female can apply for one driver visa and one domestic worker visa, while a single male is eligible to obtain one driver visa.

The ministry also announced that a divorced or widowed woman with children can apply for one driver visa and one domestic worker visa through the platform.

Meanwhile, a married, divorced or widowed male can obtain visas for one driver and up to three domestic workers under the revised categories.

Officials said the expansion aims to simplify procedures, improve accessibility and provide faster digital services for applicants through the Sahel application.

The initiative forms part of Kuwait’s broader strategy to enhance e-government services and streamline administrative processes for citizens and residents.
