RTA Nears Completion of Major Dubai Harbour Bridge Project

Dubai: Roads and Transport Authority has announced that the new Dubai Harbour bridge project is now 90 per cent complete, with phased openings set to begin this month.

The 1,500-metre bridge will provide a direct connection between Sheikh Zayed Road and Dubai Harbour, significantly reducing travel time from 12 minutes to just three minutes.

Developed in partnership with Shamal Holding, the project aims to improve traffic flow, enhance accessibility and support the continued growth of one of Dubai’s key waterfront destinations.

According to the RTA, motorists travelling from both the Deira and Jebel Ali directions on Sheikh Zayed Road will be able to access Dubai Harbour directly through the new bridge from June.

The remaining traffic movements, including routes connecting Dubai Harbour with Al Naseem Street and the intersection of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street, are expected to open in July upon full project completion.

Mattar Al Tayer said the project aligns with Dubai’s vision of developing an integrated transport network that supports urban expansion, economic growth and increasing tourism activity.

The bridge is part of a broader infrastructure strategy designed to improve mobility, reduce congestion and accommodate future development across the emirate.
