Kuwait Reopens Airspace After Temporary Closure

Kuwait City: Kuwait has reopened its airspace after a temporary closure imposed early Thursday morning following renewed aerial security concerns.

Authorities said the airspace was closed at 4:50am Kuwait time as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of passengers, flight operations and airport facilities. The decision was part of emergency security procedures activated in response to potential threats.

During the closure, several inbound flights were diverted to airports in neighbouring countries. Aviation authorities have since confirmed that air traffic operations have resumed following a security assessment.

Passengers have been advised to check directly with their airlines before travelling to the airport, as some services continue to experience delays and schedule adjustments.

Among the affected flights, a Kuwait-bound service that was originally scheduled to arrive at 6:30am is now expected to land at Kuwait International Airport at around 10:00am local time after being delayed by the temporary restrictions.

Meanwhile, the Kochi–Kuwait Jazeera Airways flight, originally due to arrive at 5:40am, has not yet received a revised arrival schedule. The aircraft is currently at King Fahd International Airport after being diverted during the airspace closure.

Authorities said further updates on flight schedules will be issued by the respective airlines as operations continue to return to normal.
