Ajman Reduces Government Working Hours for Summer

Ajman: The Department of Human Resources – Ajman Government has announced reduced working hours for government employees during the summer under the Sayfuna Mutawazin (Our Summer, Balanced) initiative, aimed at promoting work-life balance and supporting family wellbeing.

The initiative will run from June 29 to August 28, 2026, in line with the UAE’s Year of the Family. Officials said the programme is designed to create a more flexible and supportive working environment while ensuring government services continue without disruption.

Under the new schedule, government employees will work seven hours a day, from 7:30am to 2:30pm, Monday to Thursday. On Fridays, official working hours will be 7:30am to 12:00pm.

The department also said individual government entities may introduce flexible work arrangements, provided employees complete the minimum official working hours. Agencies operating on shift-based schedules have been instructed to determine suitable working hours according to operational requirements while maintaining uninterrupted public services.

Officials said the initiative reflects Ajman’s continued efforts to enhance employee wellbeing, strengthen family life and improve workplace flexibility during the summer months.
