Dubai: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has expanded its strategic partnerships with leading Chinese companies to strengthen artificial intelligence, digital transformation and next-generation transport technologies as part of efforts to support the emirate’s future infrastructure projects.
The agreements were signed during an official visit to China led by Mattar Al Tayer, with support from the Dubai International Chamber’s Shanghai office. The delegation included senior RTA officials, engineers and transport specialists.
RTA signed two Memoranda of Understanding with CASCO SIGNAL LTD. and Huawei Technologies to enhance cooperation in artificial intelligence, smart mobility, rail technologies and digital infrastructure.
Under the agreement with CASCO SIGNAL LTD., an advanced research and development centre and innovation laboratory will be established in Dubai to support the Dubai Metro Blue Line and future metro developments through testing, system integration and technical verification.
The partnership with Huawei Technologies focuses on AI-powered transport systems, information security, smart city applications, mobility management, unified transport data platforms, intelligent operations centres, advanced metro technologies and technical knowledge exchange.
Mattar Al Tayer said the visit reflects RTA’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships and benefiting from China’s expertise in transport infrastructure, digital technologies and artificial intelligence. He added that the agreements will improve operational efficiency, enhance customer experience and support Dubai’s long-term sustainable mobility goals.
During the visit, the delegation also met government agencies and leading companies specialising in transport, urban planning, rail systems and autonomous technologies, while reviewing Shanghai’s integrated transport network, Maglev train and smart mobility solutions.
