Kuwait Shuts Seven Private Healthcare Facilities Over Violations

Kuwait City: Kuwait’s Ministry of Health has ordered the closure of seven private healthcare facilities and referred one medical centre to the Medical Liability Authority after inspectors uncovered serious violations of health regulations.

According to the ministry, the action followed a joint inspection campaign involving the Health Licensing Department, the Drug Inspection Department, the Public Authority for Manpower and the General Department of Criminal Investigation.

The closure order covered a medical centre, a clinic, physiotherapy centres and home healthcare service companies. Inspection teams identified multiple violations related to licensing requirements, professional practice and compliance with technical and administrative regulations.

A medical centre in the Salmiya area was referred to the Medical Liability Authority for further investigation after inspectors found evidence of serious breaches.

Among the violations, officials found individuals practising healthcare professions without the required licences. According to the ministry, one person registered as a sales representative was allegedly treating patients, providing medical consultations and administering Botox and filler injections. Another employee registered as a receptionist was found performing pre-treatment medical procedures.

The Ministry of Health said the joint campaign reflects ongoing cooperation among government agencies to ensure private healthcare providers comply with regulations and maintain patient safety.
