Kuwait’s Minister of Education, Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabai, conducted an inspection tour of several schools in the Capital Educational District as students returned to classrooms for the 2026/2027 academic year, reviewing school readiness, operational efficiency and the overall learning environment.
During the tour, Al-Tabtabai observed the educational process and listened to feedback from teachers, administrators and students. He also reviewed the readiness of classrooms and educational and service facilities, stressing the importance of maintaining a safe, stable and stimulating environment that meets students’ needs.
In a press statement, the minister congratulated teaching and administrative staff and students on the start of the new academic year. He praised school employees for their efforts in supporting the educational process and wished students continued success and excellence.
Al-Tabtabai said the return to schools marks more than the beginning of another academic year, describing it as the start of a new phase of work, responsibility and achievement. He affirmed that the Ministry of Education would remain present in the field and provide schools with the support and resources needed to enable employees to carry out their duties effectively.
The minister said the ministry would continue field monitoring of schools and kindergartens, with readiness, stability and a high-quality educational environment among its key priorities. He added that observations and needs identified during field visits would be addressed according to priority to improve conditions for both students and staff.
He also called on school administrations and educational and administrative personnel to work as a unified team and strengthen cooperation and coordination to ensure an organized, safe and stimulating learning environment.
Addressing students at the start of the academic year, Al-Tabtabai encouraged them to remain diligent and make full use of the educational resources available at their schools. He said the new academic year offered fresh opportunities for learning, achievement and pursuing their aspirations, expressing confidence in students’ abilities and ambitions.
The minister emphasized that the success of the academic year is a shared responsibility involving the Ministry of Education, school administrations, teaching and administrative staff, families and students. He stressed that students’ best interests would remain the ministry’s top priority.
Schools across Kuwait witnessed the return of students in the remaining grades, marking the start of the new academic year in a vibrant atmosphere. Security and traffic arrangements were put in place around schools, while administrations organized student entry and reception procedures to facilitate a smooth return to classrooms.
Al-Tabtabai said the ministry looks forward to an academic year focused on work, achievement and development, supporting Kuwait’s efforts to improve its education system and provide students with an environment that encourages learning and personal development.
