UAE weather: Temperatures set to reach 46°C as humidity rises

Temperatures in the UAE are forecast to rise to 46°C in the coming days, while high humidity could increase the likelihood of fog and mist across coastal and inland areas, according to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM).

The weather is expected to be generally clear to partly cloudy, with cloud cover possible over the eastern region. Winds will blow at speeds of up to 20 kmph, occasionally reaching 30 kmph.

The highest temperatures are expected in the interior regions, where readings could range between 41°C and 46°C. Coastal areas and islands are expected to see temperatures between 38°C and 43°C, while temperatures in the mountains are forecast to range from 30°C to 35°C.

Humidity levels could reach 95% in coastal areas and islands and up to 90% in inland areas. The elevated humidity may contribute to fog and mist formation, particularly during the overnight and early morning hours.

Generally clear to partly cloudy conditions are expected to continue from tomorrow through Monday, with low clouds potentially forming along the East Coast.

The NCM has forecast the possibility of fog or mist in some coastal and inland areas from Thursday night into Saturday morning. Similar conditions could occur on Sunday night, Monday morning and night, and Tuesday morning.

The Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman are expected to remain generally calm.

Residents and motorists, particularly in areas affected by reduced visibility, are advised to follow weather updates and exercise caution when driving during foggy conditions.
