Kuwait opens first phase of Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Road project

Kuwait’s Ministry of Public Works has inaugurated the first phase of the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Road Development Project, formerly known as Al-Abdali Road, as part of efforts to improve a key transport route in the country’s north.

Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works Kifaya Al-Najdi inaugurated the first phase in the presence of Jahra Governor Hamad Al-Habashi.

The ministry described the road as a vital transport link connecting Jahra Governorate with Kuwait’s northern areas. The route serves motorists traveling toward Al-Abdali, agricultural areas and border crossings, while also supporting land transportation and the movement of goods.

Al-Najdi stated that the development works are designed to improve the road’s efficiency, facilitate smoother traffic movement and enhance safety for motorists using the route.

The project is also expected to improve access to the areas served by the road and respond to increasing demand resulting from urban expansion and rising vehicle movement.

Al-Najdi noted that the opening of the first phase reflects the efforts of the Ministry of Public Works and other relevant authorities, with continued follow-up from the Jahra Governorate Council.

The development forms part of broader coordinated efforts to advance road and infrastructure projects across Kuwait and improve transport services for residents and road users.
