Kia has confirmed that all trim levels of its seven-seat PV5 Passenger electric van qualify for the UK government’s £1,500 Electric Car Grant, reducing the model’s starting on-the-road price to £35,495 (approximately $47,000).
The PV5 is Kia’s first purpose-built electric van and is available in Cargo and Passenger configurations. The seven-seat Passenger version features a 2-2-3 seating layout, with a third row designed to accommodate families and other passenger transport needs. Kia says the cabin offers up to 1,732 mm of legroom, 1,075 mm of headroom and 1,732 mm of shoulder room.
In the UK, the seven-seat PV5 Passenger comes exclusively with a 71.2 kWh long-range battery, delivering a WLTP-rated range of up to 246 miles. Its DC fast-charging capability of up to 150 kW allows the battery to charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in less than 30 minutes.
The grant confirmation follows Kia’s earlier announcement that its five-seat PV5 variants were eligible for the government incentive. The latest decision extends eligibility to every trim level of the seven-seat model.
Kia has also reported strong sales performance in Europe. The automaker registered 377,078 vehicles across the region between January and August 2026, an increase of 9 percent compared with the same period in 2025. In the UK, Kia was the country’s second-best-selling electric car brand during the first nine months of 2026, behind Tesla.
The company is preparing to expand its purpose-built vehicle lineup with the larger PV7 electric van, expected to launch next year.
