Kuwait Opens New Routes Linking Sixth Ring Road and Sabah Al-Nasser

Kuwait’s Ministry of Public Works opened new access routes and roundabouts at the Sabah Al-Nasser Bridge project at 4am on Thursday, October 15, as part of efforts to improve traffic flow along the Sixth Ring Road and roads serving nearby residential areas.

Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan inspected the project before the opening to assess the readiness of the completed works. According to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the opening was coordinated with the General Traffic Department. The newly opened infrastructure includes a service road running parallel to the Sixth Ring Road towards Al-Maseela and two roundabouts connecting Road 604, the route towards Kabd, the Sixth Ring Road towards Al-Maseela and Sabah Al-Nasser.

The southwestern roundabout serves motorists travelling from Road 604 towards Kabd, providing access to the Sixth Ring Road in the direction of Al-Maseela. The southeastern roundabout connects traffic travelling from the Sixth Ring Road towards Al-Maseela with Road 604 in the direction of Sabah Al-Nasser.

Al-Mashaan said the openings were part of the project’s phased implementation and reflected the ministry’s efforts to improve road network efficiency and facilitate smoother journeys. She added that construction sites would continue to be monitored until the project was completed and commissioned, ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety requirements. The minister also stressed coordination with relevant authorities to maintain road safety and urged motorists to follow traffic signs and official instructions.

The latest openings follow the completion and opening of other sections of the Sabah Al-Nasser Bridge project in August. The wider project aims to improve traffic movement along the Sixth Ring Road and connections to surrounding residential areas.
