Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy has discussed preparations for summer 2027 with representatives of the GCC Interconnection Authority, focusing on electricity supply reliability and readiness for higher seasonal demand.
The ministry’s Undersecretary, Adel Al-Zamel, met with authority representatives on Sunday to review coordination measures aimed at ensuring the power system is prepared for the anticipated increase in electricity consumption during the summer months.
According to a ministry statement, the meeting also addressed the authority’s requirements for Kuwait to ensure the safe operation of the GCC electricity interconnection system and maintain stability across the national power grids of member states.
The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between the ministry and the authority to improve the efficiency of the regional electricity network and reinforce its role in supporting energy security across the Gulf.
The meeting forms part of preparations to ensure reliable electricity supplies during the peak summer period in 2027.
