Kuwait Municipality has begun demolishing 263 properties found to be in violation of regulations in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, as part of a phased enforcement campaign targeting 757 properties across the first two batches.
A second batch of 494 properties is scheduled for demolition in three weeks, following approval by the municipality’s director general. A third batch is awaiting technical reports and detailed property lists from the Ministry of Public Works before further action can proceed.
Property owners will be responsible for the full costs of demolition and debris removal. The charges will be calculated according to individual assessments that consider factors such as transportation routes, the equipment required, the number of floors and the total area of each building.
The phased approach is intended to implement existing demolition orders while allowing additional properties to be included once the necessary technical assessments and approvals are completed.
Municipal sources stressed that regulations would be enforced firmly and that owners of violating properties would be required to cover the associated costs. The campaign forms part of ongoing efforts to address property violations in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh.
