Minor and Adult Referred to Prosecution Over Alleged Assault on Police Officer in Salmiya

A minor and an adult have been referred to the Public Prosecution in Kuwait following allegations that they assaulted a police officer while he was carrying out official duties in the Al-Balajat area of Salmiya.

According to Al-Anba, the Juvenile Prosecution received the case file from the head of investigations to proceed with the necessary legal steps. The case followed a formal complaint filed by the officer, who was attacked while performing duties as a public employee.

Both suspects, who are Kuwaiti nationals, face allegations of assaulting a government employee in the course of official duties.

Kuwaiti law imposes penalties on individuals who assault or forcibly resist public employees while they are performing their responsibilities. More severe punishments may apply when the victim is a police officer.

The final penalties will depend on how the incident is legally classified and the age of each suspect at the time of the alleged offence.
