Doha: At least six people have died after a helicopter crashed in Qatar’s territorial waters during a routine operation, authorities confirmed on Sunday.
According to the Ministry of Defence, the aircraft went down following a technical malfunction. The Ministry of Interior stated that six of the seven people on board have been located, and all have been confirmed dead.
Search efforts are still ongoing to find the remaining missing person, with specialised rescue teams continuing intensive operations in the area.
Authorities expressed deep sorrow over the incident and extended their condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.
