Saudi Arabia urges pilgrims to verify Hajj permits, warns against fake operators

Authorities in Saudi Arabia have issued strict instructions for pilgrims to verify their permits before travelling for the Hajj season. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah stressed that only officially approved permits will be accepted under the “no Hajj without a permit” policy.

Officials said the system is essential to manage crowd flow, ensure safety, and provide organised services at holy sites in Mecca. It also helps authorities maintain balanced distribution of pilgrims and avoid overcrowding.

The ministry warned pilgrims not to fall for fake advertisements or unlicensed Hajj operators circulating on social media. Strict legal action will be taken against violators and fraudulent service providers.

Authorities are also working with international Hajj missions to raise awareness and ensure pilgrims complete all official procedures before arriving in the Kingdom.
