RTA Begins Traffic Changes for Dubai Mall Metro Station Upgrade

Dubai: Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the temporary closure of the bus and taxi service road at the Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall Metro Station until the end of 2026 as part of the station’s expansion project.

The affected service road, located along Sheikh Zayed Road near the metro station, will be reserved exclusively for construction vehicles throughout the project. The station is one of the busiest on Dubai Metro’s Red Line, serving visitors travelling to Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall.

To minimise disruption, the RTA has introduced an integrated traffic management plan, including a new temporary bus layby alongside the existing one to ensure bus services continue operating smoothly during construction.

The authority has also installed clear directional signs around the work zone, including guidance for motorists travelling towards Jebel Ali and Bur Dubai along Sheikh Zayed Road.

The RTA has advised motorists and public transport users to follow traffic signs, observe speed limits and allow extra travel time while the expansion works are underway.
