Foreign Tourist Arrivals to South Korea Surpass 2 Million in July

South Korea welcomed more than 2 million foreign tourists in July, marking a 20.8% increase from the same month last year and surpassing pre-pandemic visitor levels, according to tourism data.

The Korea Tourism Organisation reported 2.09 million international arrivals in July, compared with 1.73 million in July 2025. The figure was also equivalent to 144.6% of the arrivals recorded in July 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted international travel.

Visitors from China formed the largest group, with around 777,000 arrivals. Japan followed with approximately 330,000 visitors, while Taiwan recorded 261,000, the United States 150,000 and Hong Kong 76,000.

Between January and July, South Korea received 12.8 million foreign visitors, representing a 21.3% increase compared with the same period last year.
