A purple-pink diamond, the largest of its kind was auctioned for a staggering$29.3 million (₹213 crores). The auction took place in Hong Kong.
The diamond which bore the name 'The Sakura' in Japanese means cherry blossom. It weighs 15.8 carats and is housed inside a platinum and gold ring. The auction house, Christie's managed the whole auction process and reported that it was bought by an Asian buyer.
