MINISTRY OF FINANCE EMPLOYS 557 NATIVES AND EXPATRIATES ONLY 3 PER CENT OVER THREE YEARS

Kuwait City: Finance Minister Khalif Hamadah said only 557 Kuwaitis have been appointed to the finance ministry in the past three years. The number of expatriates working in the ministry has increased to 102. Expatriates make up 3% of the total workforce.


The Finance Minister was responding to a question raised by Saad Al Khanfor MP in Parliament. At the same time, the minister explained that the ministry was implementing the policies of the Civil Service Commission on indigenization.

New jobs will be created for Kuwaiti citizens within the next five years. The minister said that 328 vacancies have been filled in the financial year 2021-22.
