VEHICULAR TRAFFIC INCREASES IN KUWAIT, MP WITH PROPASAL TO REDUCE CONGESTION

Kuwait City: Traffic congestion is on the rise in the country as people return to normalcy. Most of the roads in the country experience good morning and evening traffic. The increase in congestion is due to the full opening of government offices and the easing of restrictions on entry into trade, commerce and employment. All major roads will be monitored by cameras from the control room. Authorities said the information would be passed on to the traffic patrol in the event of an accident or road block. Full attendance at government offices, which have been partially functioning since last week, has been made compulsory.

Meanwhile, a member of parliament came out with a proposal to change the working hours of government public institutions to address the growing traffic congestion in Kuwait. Mohammed al-Sawyer suggested that the staff be divided into two groups, with the first group working from 6:30 to 9:30 in the morning and the second group working from 12:30 to 3:30.
