Dubai: Airlines in the UAE and other Middle Eastern countries need 2 lakh employees. The commercial aviation industry in the region needs about 91,000 cabin crew, 54,000 pilots and 51,000 technical staff, the U.S. aircraft manufacturer said. Randy Haysey, Boeing Middle East & Africa's Managing Director of Marketing for Commercial Marketing, said:

The Commercial Market Outlook (CMO) for 2021 predicts that airlines in the Middle East will need 3,000 new aircraft worth $ 700 billion.

Meanwhile, airlines in the UAE have already begun their recruitment efforts. Recently, Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways announced that it was hiring 1,000 new employees to join the cabin crew.

Recruitment days will be held in 10 countries, including the UAE, Egypt, Lebanon, Russia, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands. The last 18 months have been incredibly difficult.

However, there is optimism that travel restrictions will be eased and activities will be accelerated to meet the growing demand. "A crucial part of this is rebuilding our cabin crew team," said Jihad Matha, head of crew performance and support at Etihad Airways.

Emirates Airlines has announced a worldwide campaign to add 3,000 cabin crew and 500 airport service personnel to the Dubai hub over the next six months. Emirates, which has gradually restored network operations in line with easing travel restrictions, is recalling pilots, cabin crew and other crew who were dropped when flights were significantly reduced due to the Covid 19 last year.
