Tradition in Motion: Inaugural Al Ain Camel Racing Festival Begins

Al Ain: The inaugural Al Ain Camel Racing Festival has officially begun at Al Rawda Camel Racetrack, adding a major new event to the UAE’s rich calendar of heritage sports.

Held under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Ain Region, the festival showcases the country’s deep-rooted commitment to preserving its cultural traditions.

Organized by the Presidential Camels and Camel Racing Affairs Center and supervised by the Camel Racing Association, the festival features 605 races, including trophy competitions across various age categories. The event will run through three preliminary rounds, with the grand final slated for early October 2025, offering significant prizes to winners.

Camel owners participating in the festival have expressed their gratitude to the UAE leadership for championing camel racing as a vital part of the nation’s cultural identity. They praised the President’s unwavering support and Sheikh Hazza’s leadership in nurturing and promoting traditional Emirati heritage.

The Al Ain Camel Racing Festival is more than just a sporting event — it is a celebration of the UAE’s cultural roots and an active effort to pass on cherished traditions to future generations.
