Despite a ceasefire intended to allow civilians to flee, air strikes have pounded Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. RSF, the army's paramilitary adversaries, were being chased out of the city, the army claimed. Even as the warring parties announced they would extend the ceasefire by an additional three days, the fighting got worse. The actual number of casualties is thought to be much higher than the reported 500 deaths. Many people are still stranded in Khartoum.
