Russia is allegedly using phosphorus weapons to attack the besieged city of Bakhmut, according to Ukraine. The city of Bakhmut is seen on fire as what appears to be white phosphorus falls from the sky on it in drone footage released by the Ukrainian military. Although the use of white phosphorus weapons in civilian areas is not prohibited, it is regarded as a war crime. They start fires that spread quickly and are very challenging to put out. Previously, Russia has been charged with using them.
