Sudan conflict: Khartoum sparked by explosions

  • 03/07/2023

The army encouraged civilians to arm themselves in response to a new assault by the nation's paramilitary forces, and explosions were heard in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan, on Monday. Early in the morning, artillery fire shook Khartoum's northwest region before moving east and toward the city's center, according to AFP. After intense clashes on Sunday between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), there was only a brief respite for war-torn Khartoum.
