The Dutch government announced on Tuesday that it will largely ban mobile phones, tablets, and smartwatches from classrooms starting on January 1, 2024, in an effort to avoid interruptions during classes. Devices will only be permitted if they are specifically required, such as during digital skills lessons, for health reasons, or for individuals with disabilities. An arrangement between the ministry, schools, and related organizations led to the prohibition.
