US eliminates it's last batch of chemical weapons arsenal

Friday saw the announcement by President Joe Biden that the country's long-standing chemical weapons stockpiles had been completely destroyed. This significant development marked the end of the known stores of these weapons of mass destruction.

More than a century after the uncontrolled use of chemical weapons during World War I resulted in widespread troop casualties and maiming, the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons hailed the milestone as a "historic success" of disarmament.
