Heat waves and floods have been wreaking havoc all over the world this week, sending millions of people into dangerous and deadly situations. But this isn't just a one-time bad luck event - it's becoming the new normal. Record-breaking heat waves, storms bringing record rain to cities, and wildfires scorching thousands of acres are all a result of one thing: climate change.

Climate scientist and University Professor Hannah Cloke told Reuters that the most effective way to reduce the risk of extreme weather is to cut greenhouse gas emissions as soon as possible.
