UN: World should be prepared to face rising heatwaves

The United Nations has warned that the world should be prepared to face an increasing number of heatwaves, as temperatures in the Northern Hemisphere continued to rise on Tuesday. Health authorities across North America, Europe, and Asia have warned of the potential consequences of global warming, urging people to drink plenty of fluids and stay inside to protect themselves from the scorching sun. 

Heatwaves are one of the most dangerous natural occurrences, with an estimated three hundred thousand people dying annually due to heat-related illnesses.
