Unlicensed Clinic in Jahra: Two Asians Arrested for Smuggling and Selling Medicines

Authorities in Jahra, Kuwait, have uncovered an illegal medical operation run by two Asian nationals, who converted a residential annex into an unlicensed clinic. The pair allegedly sold smuggled and Ministry of Health-issued medicines to individuals from their community at prices ranging from 5 to 70 dinars. Many of these medicines were reportedly prescribed for chronic illnesses, highlighting the severity of their illicit activities.

After receiving a tip, Jahra detectives, led by Major General Hamed Al-Dawas, monitored the suspects and secured approval from the Public Prosecution to raid the annex. The raid uncovered a range of medicines, medical devices, and significant sums of money generated from the illegal operation. Devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters were also seized, indicating the scale of their unregulated medical practice.

The suspects are currently under investigation to trace the origins of the smuggled medicines and identify any network involved in their supply chain. Authorities have confiscated the illegal items and are coordinating with relevant agencies to ensure the case is thoroughly pursued and appropriate legal action is taken.
