Kuwait’s Ministry of Health has launched its winter vaccination campaign to help prevent respiratory illnesses that commonly spread during the colder months.
Health Minister Dr Ahmed Al Awadi officially inaugurated the campaign at the Mubarak Al Hasawi Specialized Health Center in Hateen.
The campaign includes vaccinations against seasonal influenza and pneumonia, with services made available to both Kuwaiti citizens and residents. Vaccination facilities have been arranged across 90 health centers and hospitals in different parts of the country.
The Ministry of Health has urged people at higher risk of serious respiratory illness to prioritize vaccination. These groups include older adults, children, people with chronic health conditions, pregnant women, individuals with weakened immune systems and healthcare workers.
The ministry said receiving vaccinations in a timely manner can help reduce the risk of respiratory illnesses becoming severe during the winter season.
Authorities are encouraging eligible residents to take preventive measures ahead of the seasonal increase in respiratory infections and make use of the vaccination services available across the country.
