Kuwait Announces Public Holiday for Isra Wal Miraj

Kuwait’s Civil Service Commission has declared Sunday, January 18, a public holiday for all public sector employees in observance of Isra Wal Miraj. The holiday applies to ministries, government departments, and state institutions, with work resuming on Monday, January 19, 2026.

The announcement is part of the government’s annual calendar, reflecting its commitment to recognizing significant religious occasions. Isra Wal Miraj commemorates the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) night journey and ascension, a cornerstone event in Islamic tradition.
