Kuwait Commerce Ministry Shuts Shop Selling Counterfeit Goods

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has ordered the immediate closure of a shop in the capital for selling counterfeit branded goods. Officials seized 148 items, including watches, women’s handbags, and accessories bearing unauthorized international trademarks, in violation of consumer protection and intellectual property laws.

Faisal Al-Ansari, Director of the Commercial Control Department, stated that legal measures were taken and the case has been referred to the Commercial Prosecution. He emphasized the ministry’s ongoing inspection campaigns to combat commercial fraud, protect consumers, and uphold market integrity, urging the public to report any suspected violations.
